Illustrations

Whether it’s complementing a text and enhancing its content, a whole concept or a pattern for a wallpaper, illustrations are a perfect way to convey messages and evoke emotions.

Here are some examples of what I have done previously.

Illustrations for ABC-book

During the course Illustration at Berghs School of Communication, one assignment was to create two book illustrations for the (already existing) Swedish book “Magi, Cilla & Baby rimmar om tjejer, killar och saker”, an ABC book by Eva Lundgren. I chose to illustrate two letters/stories; A and H.

The illustrations are created by hand with pencil on paper, scanned to the computer and then processed digitally.

During the Illustration course at Berghs School of Communication, the first assignment was to create a map. I chose to create a map of Mora, and of course some of the main attractions in the town had to be central to this.

The illustrations in the map were created by hand, using ink and watercolour, and then scanned into the computer to be processed and digitally assembled. The grass and water are coloured with watercolours and the text is handwritten.

Pattern “On the move”

I created a pattern I call “On the move”. It is a pattern that wants to inspire both small and big adventures, and to take pauses and enjoy on your way through life.

It started as an assignment at the Berghs School of Communication and she then continued to incorporate it into her own products and communication.

The individual illustrations are created with a pen, scanned into the computer and vectorised. From these I then built up the pattern.

Pattern “In season”

Moodboard inför skapandet av I säsong

The idea for the illustrations “In season” was created in a fictitious assignment at Berghs School of Communication where the assignment was to develop a concept for a bag, a carton and a label. In the preliminary work, a moodboard was used to find the right feeling for the illustration and (fictionally) convey the concept to the customer.

After the studies, I made the tote bag a reality and had the spring and summer version printed on an organic and fair trade cotton bag. It is spacious and made of heavy-duty organic and fair trade cotton fabric, making it durable even for heavy goods.

I also made two illustration prints, one for autumn and winter and one for spring and summer.

I designed a logo for Hygge UF in Mora, part of the Company Program from Junior Achievement Sweden. Hygge UF sold sparklers made from locally picked pine cones dipped in recycled candle wax collected from local churches.

Hygge UF won the award for best youth company in Mora, and was runner-up for the title of Most Sustainable Company of the Year at the UF Business Fair in Borlänge.
